Following a particular fascination for the favoured techniques of the artists of the 1930s and 1940s, all six SHE patterns are made by hand. The designs originate from interpretations of distinctive patterns created through various weaving techniques, experimental expressionist forms or simple graphic paintings. Incorporating these imperfect details into the rug design while maintaining a simple yet organic look gives each rug a sense of naturalness and artistic freedom. The tactile SHE rug textures feature a textural interplay between pattern and background as the twisted yarn in the pattern layer creates a soft contrasting effect even in solid colour designs. The colour scheme makes use of the colour tones prevalent in the functionalism of the 1930s, which are also important in contemporary interior design. Made from the finest 100% virgin wool, the collection is an extraordinary experience that indulges all the senses and leaves a lasting impression. The exquisite look and feel is created by our completely natural yarn, which is spun in our own spinning mill from the finest selection of extra-long and therefore particularly hard-wearing wool fibres from Great Britain and New Zealand.
