A sense of space
The new Squalio office, located in the very center of Latvia’s capital Riga, was designed by local company AARPUS, an interior architecture studio with a special interest in office design. It hosts 61 workplaces, six meeting rooms and a lounge. The space is organised upon necessity, both as an open-type workspace and as individual offices. Glass partition walls dominate the interior, allowing natural light to flow through the premises and create a sense of space.
Striking visual language
AARPUS developed a scheme of light, neutral shades invigorated by bold splashes of color and contrasting black details. The guiding visual theme is the link, “entwining at various levels – among people, computers, the global network and neurons of the human brain as well as among countries and, on a larger scale, planets, galaxies and the universe.” The link is presented by simple, easy-to-perceive graphic features: The dot as a unit and the line as the connecting element. The contemporary visual language is used with a purpose to create attractive working conditions for both current and future employees: As the Squalio team points out, it helps to attract and retain the brightest talent in a highly competitive market.
