Smart Working
It’s all about ‘Smart Working’ at the Alpenwerk, a newly constructed office building surrounded by stunning alpine landscape in the far south of Germany. Munich based Brückner Architects put the ‘Smart Working Concept’ at the core of their design. According to a scientific study by the Fraunhofer Institute, this concept increases efficiency in the workplace by up to 36 percent. The idea behind Smart Working is to establish a creative and dynamic work environment which distinguishes between quiet work spaces and open team areas for improved exchange and communication.
Innovative Energy Concept
Further value is added by the rooftop terraces – one for each rental unit – for employees to enjoy the surrounding landscape: perfect for working outdoors, for breaks and company events. Thanks to the combination of renewable energy sources and efficient thermal insulation with high-quality windows, the Alpenwerk requires only half the energy of comparable projects. 30 geothermal boreholes, each reaching 325 ft. deep, supply the reversible heat pump and enable the building to be cooled in summer and heated in winter with very little energy. Ancillary costs are thus drastically reduced.
