This naturally includes not only materials and climate but also ergonomics and aesthetics. Dittel Architekten took on the project and won over the client with their concept. The 57,000-square-meter building is home to one of the most modern facilities for medical technology components and brings together manufacturing, research, development, and logistics. The office landscape of the new HEP Center for Siemens Healthineers was created on the basis of collaborative workshops in the spirit of user-centered participatory processes — a valuable foundation for the interior architects to transform six floors with 15,000 square meters into an optimized workspace. Key elements in this process were the corporate identity colors orange and teal, which signal the now- implemented integration of office and production and reflect the valued diversity, equality, and sense of belonging among the employees. It all begins with an open-concept reception area on the ground floor, followed by a café and bistro area as well as an invitingly furnished lounge with work and lunch tables. The floor-specific office wings consist of various, flexibly configurable functional modules, including desk-sharing workstations, meeting rooms, community and teamwork areas, as well as focus zones. The centerpiece is the interactive Meet & Talk area. The “Healthcare” principle is indirectly reflected in the interior design: mesh, glass, and color contrasts, for example, refer to the theme of X-rays; materials and surfaces to the theme of human tissue structures; the engineering concept is reflected, among other things, in the well-thought-out use of space; the pioneering spirit in networking, etc. A complex meta-level permeates the workspace, combining a feel-good atmosphere with effective workspaces.
