Let’s get together!
As the name X-Change suggests, this project is all about interdisciplinary exchange. From an architectural point of view, it is characterized by flexibility and the resulting multitude of possible uses. An 11-meter-long kitchen block lies at the heart of the design. Taking inspiration from a laboratory counter, it refers to the former use of the space as a lab. In this “kitchen of ideas” employees from different fields can meet and exchange ideas over a cup of coffee. Next to this central meeting point is a wooden platform with an integrated tree, another place for colleagues to sit down and get together. Stools and a seating niche invite employees to linger and relax and also offer the opportunity for meetings and presentations.
A playful approach to space
Three cubes serve as project spaces, equipped with an electric roller shutter in addition to a classic access door. At the push of a button, this roller shutter offers the opportunity to use the area playfully and flexibly. The cube can function as a closed area or, when open, increase the project area by activating the adjacent space. The use of natural materials and surfaces, such as spruce wood, textile and felt, creates a harmonious contrast to the smooth, cool surface of the tiles in the “kitchen of ideas” and the visible cables on the ceiling. The graphic elements developed by SCOPE Design on the floor, supports and walls as well as strong colours throughout support the lively and creative character of the co-working area.
